Fluffy Matcha Pancakes

Light and fluffy pancakes infused with earthy matcha green tea flavor. Each stack is tender, perfectly soft, with a subtle matcha tase that adds a refreshing twist and a unique green color. These pancakes go wonderfully with berries, cream, and a bit of honey or maple syrup.

Ingredients

Flour We will use all purpose flour for this recipe.
Baking Powder Gives the pancakes their volume and helps with the fluffy texture.
Matcha Green Tea Powder Adds the delicious matcha green tea flavor and a green color to the pancakes.
Sugar Will add a sweetness to the pancakes.
Large Egg Will help the pancake mixture come together and bind.
Milk Can use most types of milk for this recipe. Whole milk will give this pancake more flavor and richness.

Vanilla Extract Adds a tasty vanilla flavor and mild scent to the pancakes.

Matcha Pancakes

Ingredients

  • 2 cups All Purpose Flour
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp Matcha Powder
  • 2 Tbsp Granulated Sugar
  • 4 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 Tbsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 Ea. Large Egg
  • 2 Cups Whole Milk
  • Butter, Oil, Or Non-Stick Cooking Spray

Instructions

  • In a large bowl combine all the dry ingredients: flour, matcha powder, baking powder, granulated sugar and salt into a bowl and set aside.
  • Crack and whisk the eggs in a separate small bowl. Combine wet ingredients: vanilla extract, whisked egg, and whole milk into a bowl.
  • Add the wet ingredients mixture to the bowl with the dry ingredients. Stir the pancake batter until mixed, but do not over stir.
  • Preheat pan on to medium low heat or if using a electric griddle heat to 350℉.
  • Coat pan or griddle with either butter, oil, or non stick spray and scoop 1/4 cup at a time on to pan or griddle.
  • Cook for about three minutes or until bubbles start appearing on the surface of the pancake. Once the first side is ready, flip, and cook on the other side for about an additional 2 minutes or until the pancake is fully cooked.
  • Serve and enjoy with whipped cream and delicious fresh berries for a wonderful breakfast!

Serving Suggestions

These pancakes go great with berries and whip cream. You can also use bananas for fruit if you’d prefer. Both maple syrup and honey are great on these matcha green tea pancakes as well if you would like to add a bit of additional sweetness.

These pancakes also tase great with a warm cup of matcha or a matcha latte.
